Growing up I was influenced by pop culture to think you must fake it to make it.
But the truth is you don’t have to fake it. There isn’t anything better than keeping it real! However, you do have to dream and believe and sometimes when you believe something so much you can be fooled to think it is your reality. There is a disconnect when your actions don’t match your character and true life. For example, if I believe I am the richest person in the world, the numbers should somewhat match, or people will think I’m a phony. I was so lost in my dreams, that I wasn’t conscious about the type of content and impact I was creating. It’s fair to say I was a Reckle$s, but everything changed for me when I started teaching creative music writing in continuation schools and saw the direct impact with my students. I knew I had a bigger purpose and wanted to change myself for the better.

Killing your ego and rebuilding to a be a better version of yourself is one of the hardest things to do. I wrote this song to myself about 10 years ago when I started this journey and let me tell you, it felt so good to KEEP IT REAL.

Remember, you are 100% unique! There is no one in this world who can be you as every molecule in your body that comes together is one of a kind and creates you including your fingerprints. So, there is no need to lie about things to uplift yourself. Find out who you truly are and your purpose and KEEP IT REAL… Ain’t no amount of money, success, bigger than that.
